The 15ᵗʰ International Forum on Green Technology and Management (IFGTM 2025)
On July 26, 2025, the University of Sciences, Hue University solemnly hosted the 15th International Forum on Green Technology and Management (IFGTM), under the theme “Green Technology and Management Solutions towards Sustainable Development and Net-Zero”.
This significant scientific event is part of the annual activities of the Consortium for Green Technology, Management and Research (CGTMR). The Forum aims to foster academic exchange, enhance international cooperation, and contribute to the search for technological solutions in pursuit of sustainable development and effective responses to climate change.
Distinguished participants included Prof. Huynh Trung Hai, Chairman of CGTMR; Dr. Bui Quang Vu, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Vo Thanh Tung, Rector of the University of Sciences, together with members of the University’s leadership; representatives of provincial authorities; Dr. Nguyen Xuan Huy, Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation, Hue University; members of the CGTMR network; as well as a large number of scholars, experts, policymakers, and managers from universities, research institutes, international organizations, and enterprises in Vietnam and abroad. Notably, the event welcomed professors from Japan, Singapore, and several leading Vietnamese universities.
In his opening address, Assoc. Prof. Vo Thanh Tung, Rector of the University of Sciences, warmly welcomed the participants on behalf of the Organizing Committee. He emphasized the significance of IFGTM 2025 in the global context of increasingly severe climate challenges:
“IFGTM 2025 is not only an academic forum but also a call to action. We are facing a turning point, with many challenges but also many opportunities to transform towards sustainable development. With the participation of more than 20 CGTMR member units and international partners, I believe that this workshop will open up new ideas and practical solutions to support Vietnam to successfully implement its commitment to net zero emissions by 2050".
The Forum was organized on a large scale with strong academic content, comprising: one plenary session with keynote presentations delivered by distinguished scholars from Japan, Singapore, and Vietnam; three thematic sessions focusing on key issues—green technological solutions for pollution control; advanced tools and solutions for resource and environmental management; energy and climate change; academic–business–community linkages towards net zero goals; as well as 17 poster presentations, primarily presented by young researchers and doctoral students.
All scientific reports presented at the conference were critically reviewed and selected for publication in the Proceedings of the Trans Tech Publications (Scopus) system and prestigious scientific journals, including Hue University Journal of Science: Natural Sciences and Journal of Science and Technology - University of Sciences.
Preceding the Forum, on July 25, 2025, the Annual Meeting of the CGTMR Network took place with the participation of domestic members and international partners. The meeting reviewed the Network’s activities over the past year and set strategic directions for cooperation in research, education, and technology transfer in the field of environment for the upcoming period, with particular emphasis on green transition and the development of models to achieve net zero emissions.
As one of the founding and active members of CGTMR since its inception, the University of Sciences, Hue University is honored to once again host IFGTM 2025, following its successful organization of IFGTM 2015. This not only affirms the University’s growing academic reputation but also demonstrates its strong commitment to contributing to research and the advancement of green technological solutions in support of both national and global sustainable development goals.
