Working with the delegates of The Korea International Cooperation Agency
In the morning of 14 October, Assoc.Prof. Vo Thanh Tung, Vice-Rector of University of Siences, Hue University (HUSC) had a meeting with delegates from The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
Attending the meeting, there were Dr. Nguyen Truong Tho, Head of Office for Science-Technology and International Relations; Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Tung, Dean of Architecture Faculty and other members.
The Korea International Cooperation Agency was founded in 1991 under the management of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to implement different grant aid programs for developing countries including Vietnam. KOICA has had support programs for over 160 countries and has its representative offices in 23 coutries around the world. The office of KOICA Vietnam was established in 1994 and has been in operation since then.
In 16 May, the MoU on Smart Urban Valley Program in Central Vietnam was signed between Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam provinces and Da Nang city. This MoU aims to unify that the parties will together build the friendly cooperation and exchange relationships on the basis of equality, mutual benefit and being compliance with the laws of each country on smart urban, which bears the specific identity of each locality.

At the meeting with HUSC, the experts from KOICA focused on surveying and consulting the HUSC leaders, lecturers from Architecture Faculty about education issues, particularly strategy planning for Smart Urban Valley Program in Central Vietnam with various content: social needs for smart urban services; feedbacks on the ideas of smart transport friendly with the environment; the best places to apply for the idea of Road 2.0; the challenges and urban planning issues to regenerate tourism and improve the transport status.

In the end of the meeting, the KOICA Delegation expressed their appreciation for the recommendations of HUSC experts on Smart Urban Program and also wish to have long-term cooperation with HUSC in the future.
