Reception of the delegates from the Polytechnic University of Marche, Italy

Dr. Phan Tuan Anh, Vice Rector, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Truong Tho, Head of Office for Science-Technology and International Relations and project members of the research on orientated solutions to preserve national cultural heritage associated with tourism development in Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue provinces on the basis of information technology application attended the meeting.

The University of Sciences, Hue University and the Polytechnic University of Marche signed the agreement in 2007 and renewed it in 2012. Many training and research activities have been conducted by both sides. It can be said that 10 Ph.D students successfully defended their dissertations within the cooperation, and 2 protocol projects were implemented. The third protocol project between the University of Sciences and the Polytechnic University of Marche is the research on orientated solutions to preserve national cultural heritage associated with tourism development in Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue provinces on the basis of information technology application, conducted from December 2022 to December 2025. The objectives of the project are to specify the system of cultural heritage in Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue; to evaluate the potential of cultural heritage and the information technology application in the research and preservation of 3 provinces; to build the database of prominent cultural heritage; to build the models of preservation in line with tourism development on the basis of information technology application.

At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Vo Thanh Tung, Rector warmly welcomed the professors from the Polytechnic of Marche and highly appreciated the efficiency of the cooperative activities of both universities. The Rector expected to tighten the fruitful cooperation with the Polytechnic University of Marche and proposed some collaborative contents in the future.

Addressing the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Hoang Van Hien, project coordinator, reported the schedule of the project activities in the first year, especially coordination with the professors of the Polytechnic University of Marche to do the field trip in Vietnam and expected to have the cooperation and assistance of stakeholders, especially the Italian Embassy to Vietnam, the colleagues of the Polytechnic University of Marche to fulfill the project together well.

On this occasion, the professors together with the project members had the field trip in the localities to ask for the ideas of agencies, departments and researchers about the preservation of cultural heritage in line with tourism development on the basis of information technology application and interviewed local people.
