Welcoming Attaché for Scientific and University Cooperation of the French Embassy in Vietnam

In the morning of July 7th, Dr. Phan Tuan Anh – Vice Rector of the University of Sciences, Hue University welcomed and worked with Mr. Dominique Laffly – Attaché for Scientific and University Coopertion of the French Embassy in Vietnam and Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc – Director of French Institute in Hue City.

Also presence was Dr. Tran Phuong An – Deputy Head of Office for Science – Technology and International Relations, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Tung – Dean together with lecturers of Faculty of Architecture.

At the reception, Mr. Dominique Laffly – Attaché for Scientific and University Cooperation of the French Embassy in Vietnam informed about the opportunities for bilateral training cooperation at undergraduate, master and doctoral levels between the University of Sciences and a number of universities in France. This cooperation can facilitate candidates who will have a degree recognized in France and Vietnam. Concurrently, it is an opportunity for the University of Sciences, Hue University to step by step join the system of universities with training programs according to European standards.

The Attaché showed the projects, scholarships, research information of French professors, creating the opportunities for candidates to learn and prepare documents to increase their chances of being admitted. For doctoral and master's scholarships apart from French-language schools, candidates can apply for scholarships at some schools with English-language training programs. Research topics, theses of students, science students will be associated with the reality of Vietnam. This creates conditions for students, after completing the course, they can be recognized and easily integrate into the scientific research team of their country.

The Attaché also proposed the cooperation in organizing workshops, exchanging and teaching the topics between two sides.

At the meeting, Dr. Phan Tuan Anh – Vice Rector welcomed Mr. Dominique Laffly to set up the cooperation with the University. The Vice Rector along with leaders and staff of Faculty of Architecture, HUSC proposed cooperative contents to introduce the projects of preserving and enhancing heritage values, architecture, urban planning, especially the French colonial architectural heritage fund, Bach Ma area, projects with high cultural value such as Diem Phung Thi culture...

Both sides will continue to exchange, discuss and agree to soon implement the above contents.
