Hue University of Sciences received the visit of professors from Dalhousie University, Canada

On May 16, Assoc. Prof. Vo Thanh Tung, the Rector of Hue University of Sciences received the visit of professors from Dalhousie University, Canada.

Attending the meeting, there was also the presence of Head of Office for Science – Technology & International Relations, leaders of the Faculties of Biology, Environmental Science and other scientists.

Dalhousie University was established in 1818 with more than 204 years of development in Canada. There are more than 20,000 current students including 24% of international students. According to Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, it is listed in the top 12 universities in Canada, the University offers more than 200 programs in 13 different areas. As a member of the U15 Group - the group of leading research universities in Canada, Dalhousie University annually receives research grants of more than US$190 million, contributing many significant research works recognized in the world. The university has awarded a variety of valuable scholarships and attracted many outstanding talents, scholars and researchers.

Addressing at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Vo Thanh Tung gladly welcomed the delegates. Hue University of Sciences and Dalhousie University started the collaboration in 2004 through some projects on aquaculture and community development. For the purpose of establishing cooperation and association with universities in Vietnam, Dr. Raj Prithiviraj, Dalhousie University, Canada presented some contents and proposed the cooperation with the University of Sciences in terms of scientific research and training.

Dr. Luong Quang Doc, Director of Center for Coastal Management and Development Studies under Hue University of Sciences introduced the research on natural resources and environment studies, situations, results and research orientations with scientists of Dalhousie University.

The scientists of Hue University of Sciences also presented their research projects and proposed the collaboration for mutual interests.

Both sides will have more discussions to promote the cooperative contents in the coming time soon.
