Certificate program for grants of community-based participatory research under the JSPS project – TOTTORI University, Japan.

On October 24, the University of Sciences, Hue University (HUSC) solemnly held the Certificate program for grants of community-based participatory research (CBPR) under the JSPS project – TOTTORI University, Japan.

The program received the attendance of Prof.Dr. TSUTSUI Kazunobu – Vice Dean of Faculty of Regional Sciences, Tottori University, Japan, Honorary Professor of Hue University; Dr. Do Thi Xuan Dung – Vice President of Hue University, in charge of International cooperation of Hue University; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Pham Khac Lieu – Acting Director of Department of Science, Technology and International Relations, Hue University; leader of the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Thanh Tung – Rector of HUSC; Dr. Bui Quang Vu – Acting President of HUSC council; leader of Office for Science – Technology and International Relations; leaders, staff of Faculty of Geography and Geology, and 10 candidates leading the project's topic.

Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) was approved by Japan Science Development Agency (JSPS) with the topic “Study on Possibility of Neoendogenous Rural development in Mid Vietnam and Monsoon Asia under KASO Depopulation”. Currently, the project is in the implementation phase in Vietnam.

In the past time, the project has organized a selection of research project leaders to train and improve research capacity for young staff, PhD students, master's and graduate students under 40 years old. Through the selection process, Prof. Dr. TSUTSUI Kazunobu – the project owner decided to select 10 topics that meet the requirements set out.

Delivering her speech at the program, Dr. Do Thi Xuan Dung, Vice President of Hue University expressed her pleasure to be introduced and accompanied with the activities of Prof.Dr. Tsutsui Kazunobu and highly appreciated the contribution of the professor in particular and Tottori University in general; Through the signed cooperation, we have expanded and created many scientific research opportunities to universities such as the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University and Danang University of Education. It is hoped that the 10 selected candidates in this project program will find scientific joy in addition to being facilitated and funded to carry out, they will have a lot of experience and seriousness in the research process. They are not only messengers of friendship but also messengers of international cooperation – connecting scientists in particular and connecting higher education institutions in general, thereby serving the higher goals in higher education development.
