University of Sciences, Hue University attended the Kick-off Meeting of Digi-CHE-Asia project
Participants from the University of Sciences, Hue University attended the Kick-off meeting sponsored by Erasmus+ with the theme “Enhancing Digital Capacities in Higher Education for Asian Universities” at the National Technical University of Athens, Greece.
On September 5-6, 2019, the Kick-off meeting in the framework of the project Digi-CHE-Asia with the support of the European Union Erasmus+ Programme in 2018-2021 was organized at the coordinating university – the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece. The partners from Europe are Novel Group (Luxemburg) and University of Evora (Portugal), those from Asia include University of Sciences, Hue University (Vietnam), University of Technology and Education, UD (Vietnam, Savannakhet University (Laos), Shampasak University (Laos), Svay Rieng University (Cambodia) and University of Battambang (Cambodia).
Prof. Dimitrios Soudris, National Technical University of Athens , Project Chair presented the project's contents and the university's capacities. The other person who was sitting was Dr. Iosif S. Paraskevas, Professor Assistant
Assoc. Prof. Hoang Van Hien (Rector) and Assoc. Prof. Hoang Huu Hanh (Project Coordinator) from the University of Sciences, Hue University participated in the Kick-off meeting and other initial sessions. The Kick-off meeting was proceeded from the online kick-off meeting concerning the technical and administrative affairs of the project organized on 11 February 2019.
Digi-CHE-Asia Project is aimed at advancing the skills of academic staff, students and researchers through the following: (1) Suggestions for enhancing and improving current undergraduate curricula in term of Digital Capacities; (2) Development of a MSc programme on Information Technology, Electronics, Automation and Robotics (EAR) in a practical way; (3) Interface with local industries and more specifically the Manufacturing and High-Tech ones to contribute towards achieving a sustainable connection between the higher education and the requirements of the industry in the regions.

To gain the objectives, Digi-CHE-Asia Project focused on building the capacities by developing the multidisciplinary graduate programs and improving the undergraduate programs on digital capacities; building the DigiLabs at the project members; enhancing the staff’s capacities; developing the unreal infrastructure; creating communicative link with regional enteprises and industries through internship programs, projects training the skills and information as well as enhancing the academic exchanges among partners.
Addressing at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Hoang Van Hien appreciated the well organized meeting by the National Technical University of Athens, Prof. Dimitrios Soudris and his assistants; thanked for the introduction and contributing ideas from the project members. He believed that the University of Sciences would made effort to make the project successful. Accordingly, the Assoc. Prof. Hoang Huu Hanh presented the introduction of the University of Sciences, Faculty of Information Technology and Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications.
During the Kick-off meeting and working days, the delegation of the University of Sciences had worked hard and contributed to the success of the Meeting in terms of the contents and agenda as well as supported for the regional universities in Cambodia and Laos. Besides the assigned specialization, the University of Sciences also undertook a part of the Work Package of the project to build up the communicative strategies and regional connection for the sustainable development thanks to the long-term experience in conducting the European projects and network among the multidisciplinary partners.
