University of Sciences, Hue University, Co-organizes Workshop on New Regulations for Science and Technology Funding
On the morning of 6 September 2026, the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED) and the University of Sciences, Hue University (HUSC), jointly organised a workshop at HUSC on the theme “Guidance on New Regulations for Funding and Commissioning Science and Technology Programmes and Tasks, and Support for Enhancing National Science and Technology Capacity through the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development”.
Representing NAFOSTED were Mr. Dao Ngoc Chien, Director of the Foundation, and representatives of its specialised divisions. HUSC was represented by Dr. Bui Quang Vu and Dr. Phan Tuan Anh, Vice Rectors, alongside representatives of university units, scientists, staff, and lecturers. The workshop also attracted delegates from universities, research institutes, and other educational institutions.
The workshop focused on the latest regulations and mechanisms governing the funding, commissioning, and management of science, technology, and innovation programs and tasks. It also provided a platform for scientists and research administrators to discuss practical issues directly with NAFOSTED representatives.
Participants were briefed on key aspects of NAFOSTED's organisation and operations, new provisions on the management of science, technology, and innovation tasks under Circular No. 44/2025/TT-BKHCN, policies to support the enhancement of science and technology capacity under Circular No. 43/2025/TT-BKHCN, and related regulations and financial mechanisms.
The plenary discussion prompted an active exchange of questions and views on eligibility requirements, procedures, application dossiers, and financial mechanisms for implementing science and technology tasks. These direct exchanges helped clarify practical concerns and provided researchers with a better understanding of the requirements for accessing and implementing funding programs.
The workshop gave university staff, lecturers, and scientists an opportunity to update their knowledge of current policies and strengthen their engagement with NAFOSTED. It also encouraged them to take a more proactive approach to developing proposals and implementing science, technology, and innovation tasks.
