On the afternoon of August 12, 2026, the University of Sciences, Hue University (HUSC) hosted a delegation from the International Industrial Talents Education Special Program (INTENSE) and representatives of Taiwanese universities to exchange information and explore opportunities for cooperation in education and training, scientific research, faculty and student exchange, and international human resource development.

The delegation included representatives of the INTENSE Program in Vietnam and five Taiwanese universities: National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan Tech), Kun Shan University, Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, Tamkang University, and Da-Yeh University. Also attending were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Duc Thang, Co-Director of the INTENSE Program in Vietnam; Prof. Chi-Hung Feng, President of the College of Intelligent Management, Kun Shan University; Dr. Wan-Tien Tsai, Deputy Executive Director of the INTENSE Program in Vietnam; and representatives from the participating universities.

Representing HUSC were Dr. Bui Quang Vu, Vice Rector; Dr. Tran Thanh Luong, Head of the Office for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs; Dr. Tran Thi Phuong An, Deputy Head of the Office for Science, Technology, International Relations and Library; and representatives from the Faculties of Chemistry; Electrical, Electronics and Materials Engineering; Information Technology; Mathematics; and Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted.

Welcoming the delegation, Dr. Bui Quang Vu expressed HUSC’s interest in expanding cooperation with Taiwanese partners in education and training, research, faculty and student exchange, and human resource development. Representatives of INTENSE and the Taiwanese universities introduced the program, the participating institutions, and potential areas for cooperation in education and research. The two sides also discussed opportunities for faculty and student exchange and human resource development.

Following the meeting, HUSC and INTENSE jointly organized an information session on study and scholarship opportunities in Taiwan, attended by approximately 150 students. Representatives of INTENSE introduced key fields of study, degree programs from bachelor’s to doctoral levels, as well as opportunities for study, scholarships, and professional development at Taiwanese universities.

The session also provided an overview of the International Industrial Talents Education Special Program (INTENSE), an initiative of Taiwan’s Ministry of Education aimed at attracting international students to study and work in Taiwan in key fields, including STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), Finance, and Semiconductor.

The programs introduced included doctoral and master’s programs, dual-degree undergraduate programs (2+2 or 3+1), second bachelor’s degree programs, and bachelor’s programs. The session provided HUSC students with practical information about study, scholarship, and professional development opportunities at Taiwanese universities.

Held as part of the same program, the two activities enabled HUSC and its Taiwanese partners to discuss cooperation priorities directly while providing students and university representatives with more detailed information about international education and training opportunities.

The activities further strengthened cooperation between HUSC and higher education institutions in Taiwan, particularly in education and training, scientific research, faculty and student exchange, and human resource development.
