On the morning of 4 May 2026, a working session was held at the University of Sciences, Hue University, between the University's leadership and international partners and enterprises, aiming to promote cooperation in training, scientific research, and technology transfer.

Attending the meeting on behalf of the University of Sciences, Hue University were: Assoc. Prof. Vo Thanh Tung – Rector; Dr. Bui Quang Vu – Secretary of the Party Committee; Dr. Phan Tuan Anh – Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Huynh Thi Anh Phuong – Head of the Office for Science, Technology, International Relations and Library services; along with Dr. Hoang Dinh Trung – Vice Head of the Office for Education and Student Affairs, and other officials and staff of the University.

On the partner side, there were Dr. Nguyen Viet Anh – Regional Director for Vietnam and Asia, Steinbeis NEXT University (S-Next); Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha – General Director of Thanh Duc Viet Company; and Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Hue – Deputy Director of the Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University.

At the meeting, representatives of the University of Sciences presented an overview of the University's development strategy for the new period, with a focus on strengthening international cooperation, improving the quality of human resource training, and developing key fields of excellence. The University placed particular emphasis on its orientation toward international education integration, linking training with practical needs and innovation.

Representatives of Steinbeis NEXT University (S-Next) presented their development strategy and cooperation orientation with educational institutions in Vietnam. The two sides discussed the possibility of implementing joint training programs, notably a 2+2 university model and a one-year Top-up master's program, with a study pathway combining Hue and Germany. The parties also discussed selecting 1–3 suitable fields of training for pilot implementation in the coming period.

Within the framework of the meeting, particular attention was given to cooperation in scientific research and technology transfer, with an orientation toward developing highly applicable products to serve the needs of enterprises and society. The application of artificial intelligence (AI) in research and production was also identified as one of the potential directions for cooperation.

In addition, the two sides discussed cooperation in international student recruitment, in which the University of Sciences, Hue University will serve as a bridge for recruiting students to undergraduate and graduate training programs at S-Next. At the same time, the idea of establishing a German Center in Hue to support training and international connectivity was also raised for discussion.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue detailed discussions through online meetings between their leaderships, moving toward the development and signing of cooperation agreements (MOU, MOA). In the coming period, the two sides are expected to promote connectivity activities, including the possibility of organizing a visit and signing a cooperation agreement in Berlin (Germany).

The meeting opened up many practical cooperation opportunities, contributing to enhancing the standing and quality of training and scientific research of the University of Sciences, Hue University, in the context of international integration.
