On March 28, 2025, HUSC welcomed and held discussions with a delegation from the Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies (GSGES), Kyoto University, Japan, led by Professor Chihito Tanaka, the Dean.

The GSGES delegation included Prof. Chihito Tanaka – Dean, Prof. Izuru Saizen – Vice Dean, Prof. Shinya Funakawa – former Vice Dean, and Prof. Shigeo Fujii – Emeritus Professor of Kyoto University.

Representing HUSC were Assoc. Prof. Vo Thanh Tung – Rector, Assoc. Prof. Hoang Cong Tin – Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Science, and Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Tung – Dean of the Faculty of Architecture.

During the meeting, Prof. Tanaka and Prof. Saizen introduced GSGES, the collaboration programs, and scholarship opportunities for Vietnamese students.

GSGES and HUSC have had a partnership since 2007, jointly implementing various research programs in the fields of environment and architecture. Many faculty and staff members from HUSC have pursued graduate studies at Kyoto University.

Both parties expressed their interest in expanding collaboration in research, training, and staff and student exchanges in the near future.
