Welcome the delegation of Professor Fujii, Kyoto University, Japan

On the afternoon of March 6th, Assoc.Prof. Vo Thanh Tung, Rector of University of Sciences, Hue University (HUSC), had a meeting with Prof. Fujii and Prof. Shinya from Kyoto University, Japan.

Attending the meeting, there were Assoc.Prof. Pham Khac Lieu, Deputy Head of the Department of Science, Technology, and International Relations, Hue University; Assoc. Prof. Hoang Cong Tin, Dean of Environmental Science Faculty; Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Tung, Dean of the Architecture Faculty; Assoc.Prof. Nguyen Truong Tho, Head of the Office for Science - Technology and International Relations; along with other lecturers from the Faculties of Chemistry, Architecture, and Environment.

Kyoto University, Japan has established collaboration with HUSC since March 2004. Under MOU signed, various cooperative exchange programs in education and scientific research have been taken place between the two institutions, particularly in the fields of environment and architecture.

During the meeting, Prof. Fujii introduced Prof. Shinya as his successor, who will continue to supervise and develop the coordination and implementation of collaborative activities in research, training, and teaching between the two institutions in the upcoming phases.

Assoc.Prof. Vo Thanh Tung warmly welcomed two professors from Kyoto University to visit and work with HUSC and also acknowledged his high appreciation for the effectiveness of the collaboration between the two sides in recent times. The Rector expressed the hope that Prof. Fujii and Prof.Shinya would continue to support and act as bridges to promote the cooperation in training and in-depth research regarding the technical and environmental fields. This would create opportunities for the staff and students from both universities to collaborate, study, exchange, and gain experiences in both Japan and Vietnam.

Both institutions also spent time discussing strategies to enhance cooperation in the future. On the same afternoon, the two professors also had a visit and direct collaboration with the Faculty of Environmental Science and Faculty of Architecture for further exchange information about cooperation in related fields.
