To kick off the Hue-ICT Challenge 2024, the Final Round of the High School Programming Competition was officially launched on the morning of March 31 at the University of Sciences, Hue University (77 Nguyen Hue, Phu Nhuan Ward, Hue City).

The Hue-ICT Challenge 2024, sponsored by the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, is coordinated by the provincial IT and Electronics and Telecommunications Association with guidance from the Vietnam Information Technology Association and support from various departments and sponsors. This contest has created an intellectual platform where a passion for Information Technology converges, uncovering talented individuals who will contribute to the IT workforce of Thua Thien Hue province and the nation in the coming years.

In 2024, the Hue - ICT Challenge attracted a large crowd with 2,157 students from 54 provinces and cities nationwide participating. This is not only a contest that challenges students' knowledge and skills, but also provides an opportunity for them to display their passion and talent in the field of information technology.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Vo Thanh Tung, Rector of HUSC, expressed his joy in accompanying the candidates on this journey. He highlighted that participants will not only gain new knowledge from peers and teachers but also enhance their thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. He emphasized that the competition would serve as an exciting and healthy arena where determination is ignited with each challenge. He also expressed his hope that students would not only achieve high results but also develop the essential qualities needed for 21st-century citizens.

After the opening ceremony, the final round of the Programming Competition for high school students was conducted efficiently and with seriousness, running from 8:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Participants were given accounts and access to the Organizing Committee's exam system to complete their exams. The Organizing Committee set up an automatic marking system and enlisted an experienced team to review the exams. They also employed a source code duplicate checking system to prevent copying. For exams with 90% or more identical source code, the Organizing Committee will investigate for potential copying. If it is concluded that the exam was copied, it will be considered a violation of exam regulations and will not be judged.

That same afternoon, students will enjoy a complimentary visit to the Hue Monuments, organized with the support of the Organizing Committee in coordination with the Hue Monuments Conservation Centre.
