On 10 January, the delegation of Kyoto university paid a working visit to Hue University of Sciences (HUSC). Participants on HUSC’s side included Assoc. Prof. Hoang Van Hien (Rector), Dr. Nguyen Truong Tho (Head of the Office for Science – Technology & International Relations), Dr. Tran Dinh Hieu (Dean of the Faculty of Architecture), some lecturers of the Faculty of Architecture and staff of the Office for Science – Technology & International Relations.
Kyoto university and Hue University of Sciences have established the cooperation since 2008. Until now, both universities have conducted many research activities successfully and effectively, contributing to improving the living standard in the locality. In addition, the collaboration between two universities helps enhancing the research capacity of HUSC’s lecturers and students and they also have the opportunity to learn experience from the experts and scientists of Kyoto university.
At the meeting, both sides had the fruitful discussion and suggested broadening the cooperative strategies, maintaining the staff and student exchange, doing the joint research for mutual interest etc. Assoc. Prof. Hoang Van Hien expected the Kyoto university’s delegation to propose the cooperative contents in detail, especially to report the difficulties when the Kyoto delegation conducted the research in Vietnam so that both sides could make effort to find out the solutions.
On this occasion, the delegation of Kyoto university also had the survey and organized the seminar on ecological tourism in Hong Ha commune, A Luoi; had the discussion about the reconstruction of the community house in Thuong Quang commune, Nam Dong and set up the measurable equipment for the climate parameters in Nam Dong district.
Kyoto university also had the invitation to Assoc. Prof. Hoang Van Hien – the Rector to participate in the international symposium on International Program on Resilient Society Development under Changing climate held in Kyoto university in March 2017.
