On September 19th, Rector of HUSC Assoc. Prof. Hoang Van Hien hosted a reception for the Ambassador of the Republic of Germany to Vietnam Christian Berger and Mr. Stefan Hase-Bergen, Head of The DAAD Regional Office Hanoi for Vietnam-Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar.
Also attending the reception were Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thanh, President of the University Council of Training; Dr. Nguyen Truong Tho, Head of the Office for Science-Technology and International Relations as well as the leader representatives of Information Technology, Biology, Environmental Science, Physics, Social Work and History Faculties.
At the reception, Assoc. Prof. Hoang Van Hien, extended his warm welcome to the delegation and also introduced a 60-year history, development of HUSC as well as its strengths in scientific researches, training and international cooperation activities.

Mr. Stefan Hase-Bergen, Head of The DAAD Regional Office in Hanoi, Hanoi Office, offered the general information about DAAD. DAAD has worked as an NGO to link various universities, colleges and students in Germany with others in the world. DAAD represents for 231 German universities with more than 500 employees in more than 100 countries. The DAAD provides different types of services in Vietnam, including: Information on study and research opportunities in Germany; Advice on our scholarship and exchange programmes; Funding of exchange programmes for researchers and university partnerships; Representation of the interests of German higher education institutions; Support in establishing contact with German universities and with universities in Vietnam for collaboration, projects and events; support and networking for alumni of German universities; Training courses for university managers.

Lecturers from HUSC continued to discuss with Mr. Stefan Hase-Bergen about the field of cooperation between HUSC and DAAD in the future as well as difficulties and challenges that HUSC must face when accessing to the research support from Germany. In the coming time, the Office for Science-Technology and International Relations will be the contact point to exchange information between the HUSC and DAAD.
