On 5th December 2017, Assoc. Prof. Ha Van Hanh, Vice Rector of University of Sciences, Hue University (HUSC) had a meeting with Prof. Luc Claesen from the University of Hasselt, Belgium.
Attending the meeting, there were Assoc. Prof. Hoang Huu Hanh, the Head of Department for International Cooperation, Hue University; Dr. Nguyen Truong Tho, Head of office for Science-Technology and International Relations as well as Representatives from Faculties of Information Technology, Electronics and Telecommunications, Environmental Science and Geography and Geology.
University of Hasselt, Belgium is one of the main partners of Hue University in implementing various activities under the VLIR-IUC program and bilateral cooperation program between two universities. Currently, the University has nearly 6,500 students, including nearly 550 PhD students (of which 38% are international students).
At the meeting, Prof. Luc Claesen presented the future cooperation between two universities, focusing on scientific research projects and capacity building in higher education. In addition, he also introduced a number of technical applications in daily life, for instance, multi-camera spectroscopic imaging data in live sports television programs, communication through the internet.

Assoc. Prof. Ha Van Hanh warmly welcomed Prof. Luc Claesen, Faculty of Engineering Technology- University of Hasselt, Belgium to visit and work with the University of Sciences. Through the discussion on further collaboration, HUSC will establish a research team consisting of lecturers, experts from different faculties of Information Technology, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Geography and Geology to continuously exchange more about research cooperation contents between HUSC and Hasselt University, Belgium.
