On October 13th, University of Sciences (HUSC), Hue University held a meeting with Lao students studying at the University in school year 2017 - 2018.
Participating the event, there were Dr. Hoang Kim Toan, Head of Student Affairs Department, Hue University; Assoc. Prof. Vo Thanh Tung, Vice Rector of HUSC; Msc. Hoang Nguyen Tuan Minh, Head of Office for Student Affairs; Representatives of faculties having Laotian students; and all Laotian students studying at the HUSC.

Nearly 150 Lao students have graduated from HUSC since 2002. In the academic year 2017-2018, there are 49 Laotian students studying at various Faculties under HUSC such as Faculty of Information Technology, Architecture, Environment Science, Faculty of Geography-Geology and Faculty of Journalism and Communication. These Laotian students were accepted to study at Hue University under the bilateral cooperation agreement between the two central governments, between TTHue and Laotian provincial governments, Hue University scholarships and self-funded.

Representatives of Laotian students shared about their process of living and studying and living at the university. They supposed that they received a lot of support from the dormitory management board; from the lecturers and students of the University and also wished to continue to receive more support from the university in study and training; especially the enthusiastic and thoughtful advices in the class registration, learning methods and other related issues. In addition, they hoped to participate more in cultural activities, arts and sports with Vietnamese friends.

This event - meeting with Laotian students will be organized annually from 2017 onwards.
